The
bridge is 967m long with a 21~24m wide deck with two lane traffic and one
sidewalk in each direction. The main bridge is 240m long and 24m wide
and is symmetricaliy two-span cable-stayed prestressed concrete bridge,
with single-pylon, single-pier, and single-plane system. The pylon
is 58m in height and located at the center of the bridge. Stay cables
are arranged in a fan layout. The streamline main girder is composed
of a two-cell prestressed concrete box girder and inclined precast supporting
slabs on both sides. To match the beautiful scenery, the elegant exterior
modeling makes the bridge a remarkable landmark in the neighborhood.
It is worthwhile to note that, after experiencing
the 921 earth quake, although the bridge was subject to an earth shaking
up to 1g acceleration, the bridge still stand on river bed without suffering
shear failure or collapse.
