Sewerage System Engineering in Lanyang Campus, TamKang University

The planned sewerage system includes wastewater collection pipelines, wastewater treatment plant, and reclaimed water system.  The layout of the wastewater collection pipelines, coping with future developing trend of the campus, arose from an integrated planning.  Wastewater flows downhill by gravity in branch and trunk sewers and discharges to the wastewater treatment plant.  The design flow of the treatment plant in the preliminary stage is 1,000 CMD, while in the final stage 5,500 CMD.  The liquid treatment processes are:  Bar Screen, Grit Chamber, Equalization Tank, Primary Clarifier, Anoxic Tank, Contact Oxidation Tank, Final Clarifier, Filtration and Disinfection.  The solids processing methods are:  Thickening, Digestion, Dewatering and Sludge Cake Dumping.  Plant effluent is stored in the reclaimed water system for suitable reuse applications.
